Sketch an early fixture layout

The plumbing planner lets you draw a room outline and arrange sinks, toilets, showers, drains and water-point symbols. It helps explain where fixtures might sit relative to walls and circulation before a detailed plumbing design is prepared.

It does not determine pipe routes, diameters, drainage slopes, venting, pressure, fixture compliance or safe structural penetrations. A water or drain symbol records a proposed point in a concept plan; it is not proof that a practical connection exists there.

Start from verified room dimensions

Measure the room and note existing openings and known service positions. Enter the dimensions and draw wall segments. Place the fixtures, then move, resize and rotate them to reflect the approximate footprint of the products you are considering.

Keep existing services distinct from proposed positions in your accompanying notes. If you do not know where a stack or supply enters the room, record that uncertainty rather than moving a symbol to make the concept look complete.

Example: compare two bathroom options

For a 2.4-by-2-metre room, place a 0.9-by-0.9-metre shower footprint and the proposed toilet and sink positions using their actual product dimensions when available. Check the entrance and the space in front of each fixture. Compare a second layout by moving the sink while keeping the outside room boundary unchanged.

The drawing can reveal an obviously blocked door or an overlapping fixture. It cannot establish the legally required access clearances or confirm whether a proposed drain can connect with the necessary fall. Bring those questions, the existing plan and the proposed layout to a qualified designer or installer.

Save a revision that can be reviewed

Export SVG or PNG for someone who needs a viewing copy. Save project JSON to reopen and edit the manual drawing. Keep a measured baseline file and give proposed alternatives descriptive filenames so the only accurate version is not accidentally overwritten.

Inspect the exported view before sharing it. Add a short note explaining the units, source measurements and which points are assumptions. The wall-based 3D view is an additional visual check, not a plumbing simulation.

For the surrounding room, use the floor plan creator. Read how to measure a room and how to compare layout options before choosing the next revision.
